FORT BRIDGER — Members of the Fort Bridger American Legion Post 36 donated $3,100 recently to the Homeless Veteran’s Fellowship complex in Ogden, Utah.

Legion members who participated in and represented Post 36 in the event and toured the complex included: Commander Pete Roitz, Vice Commander Dennis Freeman, Sergeant-at-Arms Tom Dean and Chaplain Ken Duncan.

They were accompanied by Barbara Roitz representing the local American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to presenting the check, dozens of cookies provided by Auxiliary members were also given to the complex. The funds for the check were raised as a result of the Post's Labor Day motorcycle drawing.

The group met with Fellowship Board members Bob Jones, John Vickroy, Chair Jack Bradley and Jeff Kane, who is the director of services. The group toured some of the housing units, learned about the need for services, and how the Fellowship helps homeless veterans.

The Fellowship gave aid to 185 veterans last year by providing services such as mental health counseling, job placement, substance abuse counseling, VA referrals and assistance in obtaining temporary and permanent supportive housing.
