LYMAN — Lyman High School art students attended the largest high school art show in the country, the Wyoming High School State Art Symposium, last month. April 19 through April 22, .
Lyman sent 30 pieces of art to state this year and came home with five ribbons, according to Ken Relei, LHS art teacher.
"Overall, I was really proud of them [the students]. I feel as artists they really grew this year,” Relei, said. “They really extended themselves and did everything I asked."
Alex Turner had four portraits entered at the State Art Symposium. When asked why portraits, Turner said, "Portraits are kind of fun to do and more practical. I could use them someday. I did cubism because I saw it online and decided to give my own try at it."
Turner's portrait of Michael Jordan, a colored pencil piece, received a ribbon.
James Harward received a ribbon on his colored pencil piece of a lizard titled “Scales.”
