LHS Eagle teams clipped by Pinedale Wranglers in Eagle Lair

Posted

LYMAN — The LHS Eagles hosted one of their scheduled games last week as they took on the Pinedale Wranglers last week on Thursday night.

But, the wind and storm blew in, making travel difficult so the game against the Evanston Red Devils was postponed. This game like many others across the state were re scheduled.

Lyman’s game against 4AEvanston is slated to be on the hardwood tonight. The game was scheduled to be played in the Eagles Lair, and weather predictions prior to the Pioneer’s press time, makes it look like the game will be played.

The Eagles and the Lady Eagles have had problems this year in making the ball fall through the net. The Eagles face the seventh week of competition with a 3-7, 0-1 overall and conference record. The Lady Eagles have 5-5, 0-1 overall and conference record.

In last week’s game against Pinedale, the Eagles kick off game for this year’s conference season, proved to be a loss for both teams. The Lady Eagles have a better overall record than the Eagles, but both teams went up against teams last week who as of now claim the #1 spot in the 3A SW Quad. The Wranglers boast a 6-4, 1-0 overall and conference record after rolling over the Eagles last week. In the guys division, teams in the NW have the best records of the season. They include Powell with a 9-0, Lovell with a 10-3 and Thermopolis with an 8-3.

As for the Lady Eagles, they have notched five non-conference wins and five loses. With last week’s conference loss, they are still looking for their first conference win. The Pinedale Lady Wranglers are at the top of the 3A SW Quad with a 9-2, 1-0 conference and overall record. The Mountain View Lady Buffs are hot on their heels with a 10-1 overall, as they haven’t yet played a conference game.

Other teams in the gals division, which have notched good records, include the 3A SE Quad as Douglas has not lost a game and has nine wins. Wheatland has a 9-2 overall record.

Back at the game at the Eagle Lair last week when the Eagles took on Pinedale, Lyman played to a full house, which loudly supported both Eagle teams. The teams were plagued by two hot-shot shooters for Pinedale – Elyn Bowers for the Lady Wranglers and Josh Gosar for the Wranglers. These two put up many points for their respective teams.

As for the Lady Eagles, they aren’t shabby in their play. They entered the game on the hardwood against the Lady Wranglers rated in the top five in rebounding for 3A teams.
