LHS Eagles on the golf course as season kicks off

LYMAN — The LHS Eagles field a small group for golf, and these golfers have been on the course for some tournaments.

The fall season is a six week season, with the championships set for Sept. 15-16. This year the 3A championships will be held in Worland.

According to the district’s school calendar the JV Eagles golf team was slated to be in Star Valley today. No listing was given for the varsity team. At the end of this week, the Wyoming High School Golf season will reach its mid-point.

Last weekend, the LHS Eagles competed at the Evanston Invitational at the Purple Sage Golf Course. The other teams competing included home team Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Pinedale, Rock Springs and Star Valley.

For the boys Hayes Millham Jackson had best score with a 142 two-day total. He was followed by Ryker Lind Evanston who stroked 143.

The Evanston teams took both the boys and the girls events at this meet.

Lymans Eben Moen turned in the best score for the Eagles with a two-day score of 188. He was closely followed by teammate Cory Condos with a score of 195.

Three other Eagles were on the course. The included Hayden Jackson who stroked a 231 for the two days, Will Anderson with a 244 and Mason Youngberg with a 253.

As for the girls division, the Eagles didn’t have anyone on the course.

Lyman also competed at Star Valley on Aug. 9-10. The tournament was held at Valli Vu Golf Course. Other teams at this meet included Star Valley, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Pinedale and Rock Springs.

For the guys Eben Moen shot a 182 turning in the highest score for the Eagles. He was followed by teammate Cory Condos who stroked a two-day total of 185.
