GILLETTE — The LHS Eagles swim team competed at the 3A state swim meet last week.
Small but mighty, the Eagles made a presence at the meet with Trevor Lamoreaux taking first place in the 50 Free. In addition, Eagle Tyden Hill was recognized for the sportsmanship award at the state meet.
As expected, reigning champion, the Lander Tigers again took the state title. They were going into the meet with 26 consecutive titles under their belt and took their 27th title this year with 388 points, and easily outdistanced
Buffalo and Worland who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Lander's Dylan Huelskamp was named the Swimmer of the Meet and was also named Athlete of the Year along with Brady Young from Green River
Jaxon Lallatin, who has been a force on the LHS swim team took two third place finishes, one in the 50 Free and one in the 100 Free. He also swims n two of the team’s relay teams.
Eagle Tyden Hill took ninth place in the 100 Back and 10th place in the 200 IM. Hill was also recognized and received the sportsmanship award at this state meet.
Three of the Eagles relay teams were in the top 10. That included the 200 Medley relay – Evan Bentley, Aeden Johnson, Gavin Sill, Brix Hooten – which took 10th place,
