LHS track and field turn in good marks

LYMAN — The LHS track and field team continues earning marks to be able to compete during the post season at the 3A regional meet in Worland on May 12-13.

And, they continue to increase their personal records as they start on the downhill slope of this year’s season.

This week Lyman competes at Pinedale today after going head-to-head with other athletes at the Green River Invite last week on Friday and the Morgan Trojan Invitational in Utah last Saturday.

At the meet in Green River, Sage Bradshaw took first in the long jump with 16-10 and second in the high jump with 4-8. Others who placed in the top five include Ashtyn Wells, third in the triple jump with 31-1.5 and Lindsey Tucker in fifth place with a throw of the shot at 31-0. Halie Bluemel continues to skim the hurdles and took fifth in the 100.

On the boys side, Braydon Bradshaw placed in the top five in two events. He got second in the high jump with a 5-6 and second in the discus with a throw for 120-6. Others who earned spots in the top five in events included, Sam Gregory, fourth, in the high jump with a height of 5-4, Carter Bradshaw, fifth, in the long jump with a distance of 19-7; and Max Gregory, third, in the discus with a throw for 120-0.

The LHS 4x100 girls relay team took third out of seven teams with a time of 53.51

Lyman was one of three Wyoming teams to compete in Morgan, Utah, at the Trojan Invitational. Morgan High School took first place in both divisions in their home meet, which played host to a multitude of other schools.

The Lyman High School girls placed 11th at the meet at Morgan. Hallie Bluemel took second place in the 300 hurdles with a 49.28. The LHS 4x100 relay took third with a time of 3.51.

At this meet, Halie Bluemel was a power to reckon with. She took second in the 200 hurdles with a time of 49.28 and fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.00.
