LYMAN –The Lyman High School Swim team has been churning up the water and making points as a team and as individuals.

The team competed at Kemmerer Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.

The Lyman Eagles was one of six teams competing at the Green River Pre-Invite last Friday. The other teams in the water were Green River, Rock Springs, Cheyenne Central, Laramie and Rawlins.

Lyman took fifth place with a score of 162. Host school Green River took first with a score of 363. Rock Spring High School was on the bottom with a score of 130. The team might be limited in numbers, but they aren’t limited in drive and individual swimmers make their marks in the water.

The LHS 200 yard medley relay team – Cooper Haycock, Stone Olguin, Carson Walker and Hansen Bradshaw – took second at Green River.

Walker and Kyler Legault took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 yard IM. Haycock was back in second place in the 50 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard backstroke. Olguin was second in the 100 yard freestyle. He was also third in the 100 yard backstoke.

In the Evanston Invitational earlier this month, Lyman took second out of the four teams in the water. Rawlins stoked to first place with a score of 346. Lyman took second with 264, Evanston third with 242 and Kemmerer fourth with 238.

Lyman’s 200 yard medley relay team — Cooper Haycock, Kyler Legault, Hansen Bradshaw, Carter Huntsman – took first with at time of 1.53:68 over the Evanston team who turned in a time of 2.07.53.
