MOUNTAIN VIEW — The MVHS student council received an award “Honor Council with Meritorious Distinction” at the 64th annual Wyoming Association of Student Councils (WASC) state convention in Sheridan , Nov 18-19.

Twenty members of the council attended and participated in workshops, ran for offices, performed community service and received leadership training. This year was a ‘year of firsts’ for the MVHS student council. For the first time in MVHS history, the entire council received the award “Honor Council with Meritorious Distinction.” For the first time ever, a MVHS student was elected to state office as Kyia Rice was elected WASC State Secretary. Advisor Stephanie Johnson was named the Wyoming state Student Council Advisor of the year, marking the first time an MVHS advisor has received this honor.
