MOUNTAIN VIEW — Diana Tims was named the 3A Volleyball Coach of Year last week on Friday by the Wyoming Coaches Association when they named the Coach of the Year honors for the 2023-24 Fall Sports Season.

The Coach of the Year honors for the 2023-24 Fall Sports Season were announced last week on Friday by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

These coaches are scheduled to be honored at the WCA Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet in July of 2024 in Casper. The selection of Coach of the Year award is made by fellow WCA member coaches.

The Mountain View Volleyball coaching staff has been together since the 2016 season for eight years now. The staff consists of head coach, Diana Tims; assistant coach, Jessica Anderson; and assistant coach, Kim Stephens. This staff works well with each other, according to Tims. They are open to each other's ideas and bring a variety of strengths to the program. As a program they have made it to the state tournament all eight years under this coaching staff.

Mountain View has placed in the top four places at state five of the eight years and played in the last four state championships. They have also won three of those last four championships with the last two years being back-to-back state champs.

Jessica Anderson was awarded Assistant Volleyball Coach of the year. She is originally from Idaho Falls, Idaho, attended school at Bonneville High School, played college volleyball at Western Wyoming Community College where they competed at nationals. She coached club ball in Idaho Falls and at the college level at WWCC in Rock Springs.

Diana Tims was awarded 3A Head Volleyball Coach of the year. She grew up in McKinnon and attended high school in Mountain View. She was the freshman coach at Mountain View and helped coach some youth club teams prior to being the head coach at Mountain View.

Both Tims and Anderson also coached the South All-Star volleyball team last summer in Wyoming where their team won the All-Star Game as well.

Tims said they make a good team together who put in a lot of time, effort and heart into coaching and creating a positive culture within their volleyball program. They appreciate the other coaches within the district at the middle school level and in the community that helps build their program as well.

Tims said the coaches appreciate the willingness of their players to have great attitudes, put in excellent effort and to work hard towards their goals each year. They also appreciate parents who encourage and support their athletes and allow them to be dedicated to Mountain View Volleyball.
