LYMAN — Ellen Zampedri Sheets, grand marshal of the 2017 Pioneer Days celebration, moved to the Valley when she was 15 years old.
Parade chair Mark Walker said Wednesday morning, he and the committee extended their congratulations to Sheets on being selected the 2017 grand marshal of the Bridger Valley Pioneer Days celebration.
“Ellen is a great example of the legacy of hard work and service to Bridger Valley,” Walker said.
Sheets, originally from Rock Springs, moved to Fort Bridger to work for Joe and Marie Zampedri in the Jim Bridger Bar and Café in 1949. Walker said, Sheets said she loved working for the Joe and Marie Zampedri and enjoyed serving the people of the community. Instead of returning to Rock Springs, Sheets stayed in the Valley building a lifetime of service to the Valley.
