Gearing up for Pioneer Day Rodeos

Posted

LYMAN — Plans are being made for the rodeos for the July 24 celebration in Bridger Valley, according to chair Joe Hickey this week, and the sign ups to compete are on the horizon.

Although the rodeos won’t be held until July 21-22, cowboys and cowgirls need to sign up for their chance in the arena this coming week. Entries are due from July 5-8, with events including team doctoring, sorting and branding, a hide race, stock saddle bronc riding, ladies goat milking and a triatholon. The triatholon incudes breakaway roping, turn-a-barrel and goat tying.

For more information and to sign up for an event, call or text the following two people from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are Stacey Powell at 307-780-7812 and Emilene France at 307-679-9994.

More information concerning the rodeos and the attending events will be released later.
