LYMAN — Auxiliarist Robert Dittman was the keynote speaker at the 19th annual UCBLY awards luncheon held at the Heritage Barn last week on Thursday.
The theme for the luncheon was “Inclusion Drives Innovation” and was hosted by the Uinta County Business Leadership Network and MentorABILITY under the direction of Wanda Rogers and many Uinta County businesses. Businesses, which put the disabled to work, were recognized at the luncheon and awards were presented to some Valley residents and businesses. Another ceremony was held in the Evanston area.
Rick Guild, 2017 Mentor of the Year, had worked with disabled workers many years through his maintenance position with the Town of Mountain View. It was noted Guild had “opened doors for the youth of our community in providing them quality mentoring opportunities and work experiences. He continues to be an example of being actively involved with our youth in developing new opportunities.”
