A New Mexico man was killed last week in a single vehicle rollover on Interstate 80 near Lyman. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Adam Garcia lost his life on the I-80 Business Loop on Monday, Sept. 29.
“A Cadillac Escalade was eastbound on I-80 Business Loop when the vehicle left the roadway at approximately mile marker 45.5,” states a WHP press release issued on Thursday, Oct. 2. “The vehicle left the road to the left and traveled off the road for approximately 100 yards before re-entering the roadway. When the vehicle entered the roadway again, it was rotating and began to roll. It rolled several times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.”
Garcia, who investigators said was not wearing a seatbelt and “was completely ejected from the vehicle,” died at the scene.
“Troopers believe Garcia may have suffered a possible medical condition, which is being considered as the primary cause of the crash,” the release states.
To date, fatalities on Wyoming roads stand at 95, compared to 77 in 2024, and 110 in 2023.
