MOUNTAIN VIEW — Joan Baker, 86, passed away at the University of Utah Hospital, on March 3, 2023, with her family by her side. 

She was born June 19, 1936, in Heber City, Utah, the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Broadhead) Horrocks. 

She married the love of her life, Alvin Baker, on Oct. 12, 1959, in Heber City, Utah, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple on Nov. 17, 2001. Joan had such a love for her family that there wasn't anything her kids and grandkids couldn't "talk her into.” Joan cherished her time with her family and friends more than anything in life. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Tom Gerrard of Evanston, Wyo.; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Stephanie Baker of Mountain View, Wyo.; son Kevin Baker of San Antonio, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Brittney Baker of Mountain View, Wyo.; grandchildren: Nurissa (Juan) Echevarria, Russell (Kimberly) Baker, Haile (Vincent) Baker, Lindsey (Zach) Johnson, Marcus (Arianna) Baker, Kallan (Michele) Gerrard, Jace Gerrard and Derek Baker; great-grandchildren: Braelyn, Rylie, Grayson and the twins; sister-in-law, Arlene Horrocks; brother, Brent (Marie) Horrocks; sister, Karen (Larry) Ayres; and her three Baker sisters: Irene, Maurine and Reatta. Also, many other family members and close friends. 

Joan wass preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Baker; parents, Harold and Evelyn Horrocks; and brother, LeRoy Horrocks. 

Funeral services will be held at the Mountain View LDS Ward Chapel on March 11, 2023, at 1 p.m., with a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Fort Bridger Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home of Evanston.
