LeRae Marie Brown Swisher

FORT BRIDGER — LeRae Marie Brown Swisher was born in Maine, the daughter of Helen Myrick and Donald Brown Sr.

As a child in a military family, she traveled the world and most of the United States. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School, class of 1969.

LeRae married James Harris and was blessed with two sons, Chad and Kelly, both born in 1970. They were later divorced but remained friends throughout.

LeRae married Mark Benson and was blessed to have her first girl, Jodi. They were later divorced. This was followed by a marriage to Robert ‘Dingo’ Swisher with whom she welcomed her last blessing, Layci. They were later divorced.

LeRae found her place in Wyoming. She loved living in Thermopolis and the Bridger Valley. She never met a stray that she didn’t love or want to bring home, and many she did.

LeRae is survived by her children: Chad (Tracie) Harris, Kelly (Denise) Harris, Jodi Barton, and Layci (Cody) Swisher-Carmichael; her nine grandchildren: Tony, Taylor, Charlie, Kelly, Shavis, Kailee, Kaitee, Jonny, Eirlynd; and nine great-grandkids. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Pete) Roitz; step-mother, Martha Jolley; her beloved Panda, and nieces and nephews that she adored.

She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Wilson; fathers, Don Brown Sr. and Bud Jolley; brother, Don Brown Jr.; all three ex-husbands, and daughter-in-law, Melonie Harris. She was followed in death by her daughter-in-law, Denise Harris who died two days later.
