LYMAN — The LHS Eagles made a comeback when they played Cokeville notching the #2 seed in the 2A West, which propelled them into a quarter final game last week against the Tongue River Braves.

This would prove to be a tough game for both teams, but the 12-point win over the Panthers on the Eagle gridiron, pushed the Eagles into post season and hosting the Tongue River Braves. Lyman has been known this season as a top rushing team and took the #3 spot of all classifications when they rushed for 435 yards against Kemmerer. Lyman has the #1 rushing attack in 2A as Carter Bradshaw has been averaging 136 yards per game on the ground this season. The Eagles are 8-2 with losses to Lovell and Mountain View, and they're on a 5-game winning streak.

Tongue River entered the fray last week against the Eagles carrying a no-loss record until the last half of the regular season. But then the chips fell, and the Braves suffered some losses.

Today the Eagles face the Big Horn Rams on the Rams gridiron in the semi-finals. The Eagles lost to Big Horn last year, 7-0, in the semi-final round with Big Horn taking the state championship.

In last week’s game between the Lyman and Tongue River, both were hot and intense as they worked to continue their season. Lyman aced some key plays down the stretch to edge out Tongue River by one point, 14-13.

“Not our best first half versus Tongue River, but the kids came out and played a much better second half.,” LHS head coach Dale Anderson said Monday afternoon. “Offense, defense and special teams all contributed to the second half comeback. Very proud of the kids performance.”

Tongue River scored 13 points in the first quarter, but Lyman powered down and put up six points in the third quarter. The Eagles also added a touchdown in the fourth quarter and a two-point conversion to soar by the Braves, taking the win, 14-13.
