LYMAN — Our beloved husband, dad and grandpa, Ronald “Kay” Gross, 85, passed away at his home in the care of his loving family on Aug. 19, 2022.

Kay, a lifelong resident of Lyman, Wyoming, was born Nov. 2, 1936, in a 2-story house in Lyman Wyoming. He was the fourth child of six born to Simon Delmar “Delly” and Chloie Minerva Bluemel Gross.

Kay graduated from Lyman High School in 1954. He then served overseas in the U.S. Army after the Korean Conflict. Kay loved ranching and took over his father’s ranch outside of Lyman after several years doing various construction jobs. On June 29, 1981, he married the love of his life, Nona. Together, their two families were made into one. Their time was spent fishing, camping, horseback riding and packing with their family. This is what made Kay the happiest.

Kay is survived by his wife, Nona C. Gross; his children: Tammy (Tan) Bowen, Randy (Tami) Gross, Karla (Kevin) Behunin, Pamla (Glenn) Sibert and Brian (Dorle) Brower; his brother, Chuck (Judy) Gross; his sister, Patty (Dick) Drollette; 19 grandkids and 32 great-grandkids. Kay was proceeded in death by his son, Steven Gross; grandson, Brodie Brower; granddaughter, Chelsea Brower; his parents, Delmar and Chloie Gross; brothers, Weston and Monty Gross; and sister, Jean Berrier.

Per Kay’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of his life will be held for the family on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. at the ranch. Following the family celebration, there will be a luncheon at the American Legion Hall in Fort Bridger for anyone wanting to stop to pay their respects. In memory of our husband, dad and grandpa, please go fishing and enjoy the outdoors.
