CENTERVILLE, Utah — Tim was born July 1, 1979, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Jody Harmon and Lyle Simons.

Tim was the calm before the storm of his siblings: Bart, Shellie and Dani. Tim was welcomed into heaven at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, on Jan. 28, 2023.

Tim graduated from Mountain View High School in Mountain View, Wyo., in 1998. He was an active member of the FBLA and enjoyed the challenges and camaraderie of the organization. He served an LDS mission in Omaha, Neb., where he became a lifelong Nebraska Corn Huskers fan. Tim enjoyed his teenage summers staying with his grandma in Lund, Idaho, and was the most honest pipe mover for Uncle Dave and Aunt Karen.

Tim attended Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyo., where he met his wife Jamie Gunyan and later divorced. With this union came Tim’s pride and joy, his son, Jackson Timothy. Tim was always proud of Jackson, even when he tried to help by gassing up the car with a garden hose. He loved to tell that story, and belly-roll laughed while telling it.

Tim loved to read and often had multiple books started; you could track Tim throughout the house because an open book was always nearby. You would often find Tim peering over the top of a book waiting for a giggle. Tim enjoyed playing guitar and listening to good music, The Beach Boys and Michael Jackson. Tim loved to cook and enjoyed it more when he had someone to share it with. Tim was a joker and always enjoyed a good giggle.

Tim had a heart of gold and would give anything he could to others. Once he loved you, it never stopped. We always said Tim was as strong as an ox. We often thought Tim could lift half the world, and he expected you to lift the other half. Tim was a kind, gentle soul who rarely got mad and had the patients of a saint.

Tim is survived by his son, Jackson Simons of Rock Springs, Wyo,; father, Lyle Simons of Fort Bridger, Wyo.; mother, Jody, and Elbert Lee Harmon of Cokeville, Wyo.; brother, Bart, Emily, and son, Cole Simons of Douglas, Wyo.; sisters: Shellie and Derek Hensley of Rozet, Wyo.; and Dani, Jared, and children Ridley and Jaelyn Wilbur of Lyman, Wyo.; paternal grandmother, Delilah Simons of Preston, Idaho; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tim was welcomed into heaven by his paternal grandfather, Joel Simons; maternal grandparents, John Henry and Mary Meiners; uncle, John Henry Meiners; and aunt, Jean Ann Hunter.

We want to thank the amazing medical team at the Lakeview Hospital for the exceptional care given to Tim in his final days. We would also like to thank the Spring Waters Assisted Living residents, who became his friends and kept him busy with bingo, poker and games.

Cremation has taken place; internment will be in Cokeville, Wyo.; at a later date. In memory of Tim, please do something that makes you happy, and never give up the opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face.
