Two LHS basketball players tapped for 2023 Wyoming-Montana All-Star Basketball Series

Posted

LYMAN — The rosters for the Cowboy State in the annual Wyoming/Montana All-Star basketball series were released last week on Thursday and two LHS ball players were tapped for the team.

For the first time, the games will have a new location, as Gillette will host the Wyoming side of the two-day, four-game all-star action. The games will be held Gillette College in the Pronghorn Center on June. 9 and at Lockwood High School in Lockwood, Mont.; just outside of Billings on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The girls’ game will be at 5 p.m. and the boys’ game at 7 p.m.

This year is the 47th for the boys’ series and the 26th for the annual girls’ series. The games were not held in 2020.

Players for the team are selected from schools state wide to form the Wyoming teams. This year, two players, one girl and one boy were tapped for the Wyoming team and will don the brown and gold of the Wyoming team as they step on the floor against top players from Montana.

Sage Bradshaw, Lyman’s leading scorer, tough on the action on the floor and, hard on the hustle will be one of the 10 girls on the Wyoming team. She said she was asked by the Gillette Community College coaches to be on the Wyoming team after they evaluated her at the state basketball tournament, according to LHS athletic director Jason Hansen.

Sage Bradshaw averaged 14.7 points and was #2 in steals in the 3A last season.

Also, Braydon Bradshaw of the Lyman Eagles will be one of the 10 boys on the Wyoming’s boys team. He was tabbed as the 3A conference player of the year, and he was the leading scorer for the Lyman Eagles this year. He was closely followed in scoring by Mckoy Smith. Bradshaw averaged 15 points and grabbed 8.4 rebounds per game.

The Bradshaws from Lyman are the first players from Lyman High School to play on the Wyoming teams since 2013, Hansen said this week. The two who played at that time were Taylor Limoges and Mishawn Bluemel.

Players will report to Gillette, and practice will start on June 7.

Wyoming’s head coaches in 2022 are Liz Lewis (Women’s Team) and Shawn Neary (Men’s Team). They are the current head coaches at Gillette College.

Montana swept the four games in the series in 2022. The Treasure State girls won 69-59 and 68-49. They've won 12 straight and lead the series 37-13. The Treasure State boys won 103-76 and 94-77. They've won 20 in a row and lead the boys' series 65-27.
