EVANSTON — Valentine Earl Reinholz, 88, more commonly known as Val and more lovingly know as Leon left the loving arms of his family on May 9, 2022.

He was surrounded by his family at his time of death.

Val was born on March 8, 1933, to Valentine Lawrence Reinholz and Pearl Emerson Reinholz. He was the second of eight children. Val grew up on a farm in Glendive Montana. At the age of 16, Val joined the Army and became an Army cook. Val was Honorably Discharged in 1953.

After serving our great country as a Korean War Veteran, Val found the love of his life in Glenda Hanes Largent. Val and Glenda were married on June 27, 1959, In Red Lodge Montana. They had three sons: Rod Reinholz (Mary) of Mountain View, Wyo.; Randy Reinholz (Rhonda) of Magnolia, Texas,; and Robin Reinholz of West Valley City, Uyah.

Val had nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were very active in his life. Val also had many extra grandchildren and great grandchildren of his choosing.

Val retired from FMC, where he worked as a top side mechanic and served as a Union Steward. He also drove bus for LeBus, back and forth to the mine and served as their Union president for many years. He then became a chauffeur for Glenda and her Avon business, until Glenda passed away in October 2002. Val then helped take care of his many grandchildren.

Val was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Reinholz; his parents, Valentine and Pearl Reinholz; brothers, Edward Reinholz and Lawrence Reinholz; sisters, Katherine Crawford, Geraldine Crawford, Josephine Dickinson, Teresa LaBalley and Mary Thompson; and one granddaughter, Amanda Jo Reinholz.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Fort Bridger Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Crandall Funeral Home.
