BRIDGER VALLEY — Varsity volleyball teams for both Lyman and Mountain View hit the courts at the 3A Conference Duals last week in where they notched wins playing multiple matches in the two day event, Oct. 6-7.

Wyoming High School volleyball teams have finished seven weeks of the 2023 season.

Only two weeks remain in the regular season. Regional tournaments are the final weekend of October, followed by the state tournament in early November.

Following last week’s play Mountain View and Lyman were still at the top of the 3A SW Quad. Mountain View has a 23-6-1, 3-0 record and Lyman has a 20-8 overall and 2-1 conference record as of Oct. 8.

Moving into this week, both schools take on the Pinedale Lady Wranglers and the Lander Lady Tigers, which are conference matches.

Lyman played Pinedale, another conference win, on Tuesday and took the win in four: 24-26, 25-22, 28-18, 25-22. They also played Lander Thursday after the Pioneer’s press time. Both were travel competitions.

On Friday last week, Mountain View went up against Lovell and took the match in three: 25-16, 25-14, 25-11. Their second match against Worland was more of a challenge for the Lady Buffs, but they still took the match in four sets: 25-15, 19-25, 27-25, 25-10.

In their final match of the Duals, Mountain View faced Thermopolis at the net. This proved to be easier for the Lady Buffs as they dominated all three sets to take the win: 25-17, 25-13, 25-13.

The LHS Lady Eagles also played hard at the Duals taking all four wins with stiff competition and easier matches.

On Friday, Lyman faced the Powell Lady Panthers. Powell is at the top of the 3A NW with a 19-5 overall and a 3-0-conference record as of Oct. 8. This proved to be a challenging match, which went into four sets: 21-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-18, 15-13.

The Lady Eagles second game Friday was against Thermopolis. The Lady Eagles wrapped this set up n three with several point advantages: 25-15, 25-17, 25-14.

On Saturday, the Lady Eagles faced the Worland Lady Warriors in a match that went into four sets.

With one to go at the Duals, the Lady Eagles went up against the Lovell Lady Bulldogs. Although the Lady Bulldogs had set themselves up to be fierce, the Lady Eagles soared over and took the match in three sets: 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.
