MOUNTAIN VIEW — On Dec. 17, 2022, loving wife, mother, great grandmother Verna Faye Oliva, 83, left this world to go back home to her family in heaven.

She was born Nov. 10, 1939, to Austin C. and Faye Titmus, Simpson in Evanston, Wyoming. She married William C. Oliva on July 2, 1955, in Green River, Wyoming. He preceded her in death after 67 years of marriage.

Verna loved her family unconditionally and spoiled her great-grandkids al the time. She enjoyed bingo, gambling, fishing, camping, dancing, singing, hunting with her husband and socializing with friends.

Verna leaves behind her daughter ,Shellie Oliva; her granddaughter, Jamie (Matt) Sherman; three great-granddaughters: Holly, Emma and Bridget Sherman; her best friend of 75 years, Mary Morin; her brother, Clark Slagowski; sister-in-law, LaRue Simpson; brother-in-law, Bill Bennett; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepdad, Gerald Slagowski; brothe, Larry; twin sister and brother in law, Verla and Bob Hysell; sister, Kay Bennett; great-grandson, Brandon Green; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, 1 p.m. at the Uinta Senior Center, 330 Second Street, Mountain View, Wyoming.
