OVERTON, Nev. — Marvin Dwight Mitchell, age 80, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at his home in Overton, Nevada.

He was born June 13, 1942, in Pleasant Valley, Utah, to Mar D. and Berneice Hancock Mitchell. On May 29, 1965, he married Jerilynne Rae Graham in Mountain View, Wyo.

Dwight grew up in Upalco, Utah. Although his was a rural home, he didn’t mind the isolation but loved the adventure of the outdoors.

He raised his family in Sandy, Utah. He had an associates degree in Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics and worked for Wheeler Machinery as an Engine Specialist for 12 years. He operated heavy equipment and worked as a lineman. He was very handy, understanding plumbing, electrical and working with wood.

He built the family home in Sandy and loved to tinker with home and auto projects. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and going for long drives into the mountains.

Survivors include his wife Jeri of Overton; three daughters: Valerie (Brett) Hayden of Magna, Utah; Corina Greenfield of W. Jordan, Utah; Faye (Robert) Workman of Lexington Park, MD; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marjorie Lamb of Springville, Utah; and Saundra (Bob) Allred of Bridgeland, Utah.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry.
